Largest clients ran up to ten fully equipped IVRs utilizing six Sun servers, 32 Windows servers, and 24 T1s at different key locations located in different states. Many also serviced their clients through cloud services, so uptime and coordination for upgrades were of a major concern.

Senior Field Engineer/Software Analyst/Tester

Began as a Senior Field Engineer with Nortel maintaining the largest law firms in Hawaii. Joined Periphonics (acquired by Nortel in 2000) in 2000.  Certified as a systems engineer and Subject Matter Expert (SME) for VPS, VPS/is, and MPS platforms and software developer utilizing PeriPro and PeriStudio for Nortel Networks/Periphonics IVR platforms.

Ø       Provided all support for Verizon/HawTel and their IVR clients in Hawaii, as well as PBX support for Voice over IP (VoIP.) Supported installation and maintenance for IVR systems, provided PBX support for Nortel switches for the Enterprise unit. Served as sole tech support for the US on ICL systems.

Ø       Lan equipment has consisted of Cabletron, Cisco, Tellab, Bay Networks and Nortel Networks equipment which has included MMACs, terminal servers, multiplexers, bridges, switches and routers.

Ø       Have provided support for Meridian PBX systems and Nortel Voice Over IP (VOIP) equipment, including analyzing sniffer traces and switch programming to locate system anomalies. Have also worked with other various vendor equipment including Lucent and Alcatel.

SURTASS Mission Supervisor/Analyst/Tester

Led a team of six technicians on arduous sea missions for up to three months or more, while working on Surface Towed Array Surveillance Systems (SURTASS.) Maintained all SURTASS related systems, logistics, administration, security, COMSEC crypto and cryptographic systems, and provided routine and end of mission reports. Held NATO top-secret clearance.

Ø       Completed all missions on assigned T-AGOS vessels with an operational availability of 99% plus (allowed a 30 minute window if a piece of critical equipment was down, otherwise Hughes would suffer financial repercussions).

Ø       Served as direct liaison between ship’s captain, Hughes, and naval authorities.

Ø       Managed all electronic equipment functionality, including data systems, satellite and high-frequency communication systems, radar, sterile water systems for WSC-6, navigation, COMSEC, and towed array. Testing was proprietary and confidential. My ships could not sail without being certified due to national security.
